My job is simply to help you tell your story, in your voice. As the writer of memoirs and autobiographies – I’m merely the midwife. Yes, I'm the one who writes the book but my books are other people’s stories, other people’s legacies – I just help them tell their tale.
I listen, (I mean REALLY listen), ask questions, take notes, research and write your book in your voice, with your tone, and help you tell your story the way it needs to be told.
In the world of memoirs and autobiographies, the short version is coauthors are credited while ghostwriters remain anonymous. It should be known that Ghostwriting is an ethical and accepted practice in the publishing industry.
Having gotten my first professional writing gig at just 16 years old, I have been writing professionally for 35+ years. In that time, I have mastered the art of the interview. I understand how to let someone tell their tale yet, at the same time, dig into them for more. I have an ability to help people unearth memories or details they had long since forgotten. When it comes to delicate memories that are integral to the story, I am both empathetic and diligent recognizing when to push for more and when to back off. I also have an absolute understanding of deadlines.
As a successful marketing professional, I have a knack for knowing what will sell. I can hear a story and tell what parts need to be emphasized and what parts don't. I will not only write your story, but shape and mold it into a salable, marketable and readable book that flows, entertains and informs.
Quite simply, as egotistical as it may sound, I posses the know-how in how to write, process and deliver a quality book.

It’s very painless and simple...
• First, we'll set up a complimentary discussion to talk about your project. We'll talk about the overall story you want to tell, what you want to achieve, etc. This can be done in person, on the phone or via Zoom.
• If we both feel like we're a good fit for each other, we'll move on to another in depth conversation about your book. We'll get into more detail about the items we addressed in our initial conversation.
• From there, I create a solid plan for your book. We will work together to establish both an outline and a timeline.
• Next comes the interview process. The timeframe for this can be anywhere from two to six months, depending on your interview availability, amount of material to cover, desired length of the project, etc.
• From these interviews, plus any other resources you may have and my own research, I will write a book in your voice.
• I write the book as we are moving along, however I typically deliver the rough manuscript at the conclusion of our interviews. I wait until this point because oftentimes, different memories pop up at different parts of our interview sessions. We might address one portion of your story very early on and weeks (or months later) when we are discussing something else, that will trigger another part of the initial story that needs to be included. It is easy enough for me to go back and insert it into the flow of the work, however from an editing perspective early editing becomes a lot of unnecessary, time consuming work.
• Upon delivery of the rough version of the manuscript, we will go through it together and talk through edits, include things you may want to add, delete, etc.
• Once the editing process is complete, you will have a finished manuscript!
Beyond writing your book for you, I am also on hand to help you through the various steps to take it through to completion...
• Hiring a professional book editor
While we will have edited your book to your liking, a professional book editor is a must as they edit words, punctuation, style, mechanics, pacing and formatting to ensure an author's writing is clear and without errors.
• Publishing Process
Having seen a number of books through the entire process, I am available to help take your book through the publishing process. This can include a fully designed interior layout, cover design, legal certifications, securing an ISBN number on through finding a print partner that will make your book available online as well as supply you with print copies for have and sell yourself.
